Backing Up Your Work

When you both write and travel, you need a working laptop. I’ve had another visit from The Black Screen of Death.  It’s my Dell Inspiron.  Four hard drives in two and a half years, and once again headed to the shop.

The Black Screen of Death

The white arrow is frozen,
pointing up,
deceivingly optimistic
against the Black Screen of Death.

Locked within it:
the boy with no shoelaces,
faces of loved ones,
a goofy white dog.

One click to save these
carefully crafted words,
the sound of the final tumbler
falling into place.

One black screen
returning me again
to bound lined pages
and a fine point pen.

Sad situation, but great inspiration! 😀

Quote for the day ~ â€œLet us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.” Siddhārtha Gautama (Buddha)
